Mr. Poonsit Wongthawatchai, Assistant Secretary of Krungsri Foundation, recently led a media delegation in joining the launch of ‘The Story of Khao Lam Hin Rui’ project organized in Thalang, Phuket, by students of the Communication Arts Program, Faculty of Management Science, Phuket Rajabhat University, who won the foundation’s Krungsri University Volunteer Project 2020 contest. Preserving the unique skills of producing ‘Khao Lam’ (glutinous rice roasted in bamboo joints) and promoting economic self-sufficiency in the community through e-book, pocket book, mini-museum, and QR code, the winning project is also aimed to encourage the new generation to conserve local wisdom of the delicacy which has been made a distinctive occupation in Phuket for more than a century.

The Krungsri University Volunteer Project’s objectives are to support university students to capitalize on their knowledge and expertise in applying to community development volunteer projects, through learning and strengthening their voluntary spirit, for positive impacts on the economy, society and the environment.
