Krungsri announces lending rate adjustment amid an economic recovery in Thailand

30 December 2022

Bangkok (30 December 2022) – Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL and its business units) announces that it will be adjusting its lending rates by 0.40% per annum, effective on 3 January 2023. The decision comes amid a gradual economic recovery in Thailand and an increase in interest rates.

Krungsri Chief Strategy Officer, Mr. Pairote Cheunkrut, said “As Thailand’s economy continues its gradual recovery, the decision to increase rates has been made in response to the current economic climate and the rising global rates, as well as the resumed contributions to the Financial Institution Development Fund (FIDF) fee at a normal rate. This move was carefully considered, taking into account market conditions and economic indicators. The Bank remains committed to providing timely and appropriate support to meet the needs of vulnerable customers, aligning with the Thai Bankers’ Association (TBA)’s practice.”

The Bank adjusts lending rates as follows;
  • Minimum Loan Rate (MLR) is increased by 0.40% to 6.48%
  • Minimum Overdraft Rate (MOR) is increased by 0.40% to 6.725%
  • Minimum Retail Rate (MRR) is increased by 0.40% to 6.65%

These rates will take effect on 3 January 2023.
