Bangkok (5 November 2020) – Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) joined forces with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan’s largest financial group, and one of the world’s largest financial groups, to organize Krungsri-MUFG Virtual Business Matching Fair 2020, Krungsri’s first international business match making through online channels. The virtual event was participated by more than 200 entrepreneurs and companies from Thailand, Japan and ASEAN, as well as regional organizations and partner banks of MUFG, resulting in the successful business match making of more than 300 matches on record. In addition, Krungsri and MUFG provided online advisory services to support commercial customers and enhance their business opportunities for foreign expansion, underscoring the collaborative strength of Krungsri’s local expertise and MUFG’s global network for creating the growth opportunities of Thai business sector.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has affected international travel, the technology about virtual conference was deployed to conduct online meetings and business matching event for this year, enabling Krungsri to expand areas of participants and cover more industries. Mr. Yoshiyuki Horio, Krungsri Head of Japanese Corporate and Multinational Banking (JPC/MNC Banking), said “Krungsri-MUFG Virtual Business Matching Fair 2020, recently organized by Krungsri, had more than 200 participants consisting of entrepreneurs, buyers and sellers from Thailand, Japan and ASEAN countries, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, and new joiner Indonesia. Meanwhile, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, also participated in the event for the first time this year. For investment advisory services, there were four participants from major international investment agencies, including Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangkok Office, Yokohama Industrial Development Corporation (Yokohamma IDEC), Tokyo SME Support Center, and Aichi Prefecture, along with five partner banks of MUFG. The five included Krungsri Laos, Myanmar’s Co-operative Bank Ltd., Vietnam’s VietinBank, the Philippines’ Security Bank, and Bank Danamon Indonesia.”
Krungsri-MUFG Virtual Business Matching Fair 2020 covered more diverse sectors, ranging from consumer products, home furnishing materials, medical devices, to digital and innovation businesses. Krungsri and MUFG have succeeded in organizing the business matching event for the eight consecutive year, reflecting Krungsri’s commitment to create the growth opportunities for the Thai business sector and enhance their potential for expansion into foreign markets via synergies between Krungsri’s local expertise and MUFG’s global network. The event was also part of Krungsri Business Empowerment, which aims to provide insights through seminar activities and business networking to continuously enhance business opportunities and create growth prospects for Krungsri’ s customers.
