Krungsri and LDB introduce ‘Krungsri-LDB Global Transfer’ service offered through Krungri Biz Online (KBOL)

Bangkok (14 October 2020) – Krungsri, led by Mr. Dan Harsono (2nd left), Krungsri Head of Retail and Consumer Banking and Lao Development Bank, by Dr. Akhom PRASEUTH (2nd right), General Managing Director official launch Krungsri-LDB Global Transfer real-time money transfers service offered through Krungri Biz Online (KBOL). The innovation has been initiated to support money transfers between Thailand and Lao PDR, enabling individual and small entrepreneurs to better respond to business and customer needs with more convenience and safer. Moreover, Mrs. Budsakorn Teerapunyachai (left), Senior Director of Information System Examination Department, Bank of Thailand (BOT) and Mr. Phouthaxay SIVILAY (right), Deputy Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR joined the event, held in format of virtual conference at Krungri Ploenchot Office, Bangkok and Head office, LDB, Vientiane, Lao PDR.
 
The Krungsri-LDB Global Transfer also connects the Application Programming Interface or API of the two banks to, for the first time, enable the seamless and easy international remittance transactions.  In addition, the new service also sees another great milestone of Krungsri’s money transfer innovation development after previously strengthening leadership in using blockchain technology for international remittance.
 
The Krungsri-LDB Global Transfer service offered through Krungsri Biz Online (KBOL) will support money transfer to recipients’ accounts based on the currency being transferred without using exchange rates. In the first phase, it will support Thai Baht and US dollar and is expected to support other currencies in the future. Customers can enjoy the Krungsri-LDB Global Transfer service through KBOL, with remittances   from Thailand to Lao PDR free of charge from now until the end of 2020.
