Bangkok (19 June 2025) – Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) and Schneider Electric have joined forces to form a significant strategic partnership aimed at driving Thailand towards a greener and low-carbon economy. By combining Schneider Electric’s expertise in energy management and automation with Krungsri’s strength in sustainable finance, the collaboration seeks to promote and support entrepreneurs—especially SMEs—in adopting energy-efficient technologies and integrating environmental responsibility into their operations.
Mr. Pairote Cheunkrut, Krungsri Chief Strategy Officer, added: “With the goal of becoming The Leading Sustainable and Regional Bank, Krungsri places strong emphasis on promoting ESG practices among Thai businesses. This is particularly by supporting SMEs, burdened by electricity costs of 10–30%, depending on the business type, in their adaptation to the evolving energy and environmental transitions. This is achieved through financial solutions and a variety of initiatives aimed at building knowledge, raising awareness, and providing ongoing guidance toward low-carbon business operations. Our collaboration with Schneider Electric will further expand opportunities for SMEs to access technologies that improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, alongside appropriate financial support. This partnership will serve as a key driver in helping Thai businesses transition toward a resilient and sustainable low-carbon economy.”
Mr. Mongkhon Tangsiriwit, Cluster President of Schneider Electric Thailand, Laos and Myanmar said, “Sustainability is at the core of Schneider Electric's operations. Our purpose is to create impact by empowering all to make the most of our energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability for all. This collaboration with Krungsri will enable SMEs to access energy management solutions by leveraging digital technology and sustainability for their business operations. SMEs are a key driver of Thailand’s economy and a group that can generate broad positive environmental impacts.”
As part of this strategic partnership, Krungsri and Schneider Electric are combining their respective strengths—Schneider Electric’s expertise in energy management and automation, and Krungsri’s capabilities in sustainable finance—to develop and deliver advanced energy technologies along with financial solutions that address Thailand’s energy and environmental challenges. The collaboration aims to accelerate the country’s transition to a green and low-carbon economy by enabling entrepreneurs, especially SMEs, to adopt practical and impactful sustainable business practices. The two organizations will work together through 2 key areas of focus; 1. Decarbonization and Ecosystem Development – Promoting ESG awareness and understanding within the business community through initiatives such as the Krungsri ESG Awards and Krungsri ESG Academy as well as other collaborative efforts that support the effective transition to a low-carbon economy. 2. Sustainable Financial Solutions – Offering financial support that enables SMEs to invest in energy-efficient technologies, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance long-term business sustainability.
