Krungsri appoints two new senior executives

Bangkok (5 January 2026) – Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL and its business units) announced the appointment of two seasoned executives. Ms. Duangdao Wongpanitkrit will assume the role of Chief Finance and Strategy Officer (CFSO), and Mr. Hiroshi Kurihara has been appointed as Head of Corporate Strategy and Planning Group and Chief Transformation Officer. Both appointments are effective 1 January 2026.

Ms. Duangdao Wongpanitkrit is a seasoned veteran dedicated to driving Krungsri’s continued robust growth through her expertise, extensive experience, and in-depth understanding cultivated over more than 35 years from leading Thai financial institutions and global corporations. Her strategic insight and strong leadership have been instrumental in Krungsri’s sustainable growth over the past 18 years, enabling it to become one of Thailand's Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) and expand its domestic and international operations as a leading sustainable regional bank. Her visionary leadership and business expertise have earned her widespread recognition, including the Asia's Best CFO (Investor Relations) award for 10 consecutive years from Corporate Governance Asia. She currently serves as an MUFG Executive Officer, reflecting the admiration and recognition of her excellent achievements and capabilities.

Ms. Duangdao is the first senior executive to be appointed to this position. Her new position will play a key role in co-developing Krungsri Group’s strategic plan and direction, while formulating financial strategies to reinforce strength and drive continuous growth, enhance competitive capabilities, and create opportunities for sustainable business growth.

Ms. Duangdao graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Thammasat University and received a Master of Business Administration in Financial Accounting from Chulalongkorn University.

Mr. Hiroshi Kurihara has more than 26 years of experience in the banking industry and government sector in Japan, the USA., and the Netherlands. He has extensive experience and expertise in Domestic Branch, Corporate Banking, and Corporate Planning. Before joining Krungsri, he served as Managing Director, Head of Japanese Corporate Banking Division for EMEA., MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V., the Netherlands. In June 2025, he was appointed Deputy Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Transformation Officer.

As the Head of Corporate Strategy and Planning Group and Chief Transformation Officer, Mr. Kurihara will draw on his extensive experience and expertise, along with his insight, global perspective, and professionalism, to plan and manage the goals and operational plan of the corporate business plan, medium – term business plan (MTBP), and long – term business plan for the Bank and Krungsri. In addition, he will actively drive the organization’s transformation by leveraging the strength and collaboration between Krungsri and MUFG to lead the business toward achieving its goal.

Mr. Kurihara graduated with a Bachelor of Political Science from Waseda University, Japan, and received a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
