Krungsri won prestigious awards from ABF Retail & Wholesale Banking Awards 2021

Bangkok (21 October 2021) – Mr. Pairote Cheunkrut (left), Krungsri Chief Strategy Officer, and Mr. Sayam Prasitsirigul (right), Krungsri Chief Information and Digital Officer, received four prestigious awards from Asian Banking & Finance (ABF) Retail & Wholesale Banking Awards 2021. The ABF award, held annually, honor outstanding banks that have introduced groundbreaking retail & wholesale banking products and services that proved to be an industry game-changer. Krungsri was recognized with the prestigious awards related to the marketing and branding, the financial inclusion, and the financial innovation for commercial customers, as follows.
  1. Marketing & Brand Initiative of the Year – Thailand award for the success of “We never stop caring” campaign, which centered on the impact of COVID-19 on its customers across segments and how the Bank aimed to help them get through the new normal. Krungsri believed that the best way to help customers and show that the Bank cared was to act earnestly and consistently to stay beside customers and offer them the support they need in all circumstances. These included developing financial products that meet their needs, providing them with ongoing financial advice, and helping the overall society.
  2. Financial Inclusion Initiative of the Year – Thailand award for the success of its “Plearn Plearn by Krungsri GURU” online content hub created in 2014, which continuously promoted financial literacy and created inspiration for living for all customers’ segments, developed in easy-to-digest online articles and podcasts. During the COVID-19 situation, contents were continuously customized to meet the needs and interests of each group of customers. Hence, it was considered by many customers as one of the tools that helped them adapt and prepare for the New Normal situation.
These two awards clearly reflect the Bank’s commitment to a customer-centric strategy for sustainable growth.
  1. Domestic Technology and Operations – Thailand award for the success of digital platform development for commercial customers, “Krungsri Biz Online”, and solutions driven by emerging technology to facilitate businesses with optimized innovation.
  2. Thailand Domestic Initiative of the Year award for the success of the new platform “Krungsri iPro”. The project is not only a cutting-edge innovation that disrupts the traditional ways of juristic account opening but is also a catalyst to utilize financial innovation in delivering new services to wholesale customers.
These two awards are in line with the Bank's Medium-Term Business Plan (MTBP) of ‘commercial business enhancement’ strategic direction.
